Class is in session, this time wine’s included.

A conversation series for the next generation of collectors. Hear from art world insiders, and dive into what’s on view this summer.

July – August, 2026 · New York City

By Alchemy Advisory × Beyond Vue

What it is

Summer School is a four-session conversation series where emerging and seasoned collectors, the curious, and the culture-obsessed come together to learn, connect, and deepen their understanding of art and the industry.

Each session runs as an interactive talk with art world experts, where curiosity is the only credential you need. You'll leave with the vocabulary, the framework, and the confidence to engage with art on your own terms.

Pick and choose which sessions speak to you, or attend all four.

Why it exists

Summer School exists because New York City is full of people who go to openings, follow artists online, and feel something when they see great work, but don't know what to do next, and are ready to learn more. Art shouldn’t feel exclusive, so we built this for you.

Our Program

  • Thursday July 9, 2026 - 7pm

What does "contemporary" actually mean? How do collectors think? And how do you go from admiring art to owning it? This is the foundation, and the perfect moment to make your first (or next!) acquisition. Works by Clifford Bertin will be on view.

  • Thursday, July 9th - 7pm

    July 23, 2026

This session breaks down how those at the forefront of the industry get art from studios around the world, and into private collections and museums. How do galleries and artists work together? How does work get priced? How do gallerists build relationships with collectors? How do those from outside the gallery structure work in the industry, and when is it time to work independently?

  • Thursday, August 6, 2026 - 7pm

Jenée-Daria Strand, Assistant Curator of Public Art Fund, will provide an exhibition tour of Woody De Othello: Guardian Spirit, before elaborating on her own curatorial practice and how she collaborates with artists from her vantage point as a curator. A Q&A will follow.

  • August 13, 2026 - 7pm

Emerging and mid-career artists in direct conversation, unfiltered and unpredictable.
